What to expect.

We are not a network provider; however, we do bill most PPO (out of network) insurances if your policy includes chiropractic coverage. We accept non-HMO Medicare for chiropractic services (spinal adjustments) only; additional health services, such as whole body health care and spinal decompression require some out of pocket payment for Medicare patients. Each patient will be asked to pay for the initial visit, regardless of insurance benefits. When required (infrequently), some therapies for pain are not covered by insurance and require a nominal fee.

Dr. Chenaur will provide an extensive one-on-one consultation and history inquiry where she listens carefully to your entire history, along with your entire health and diet history if you are requesting “whole body health” care. You will receive treatment on your first visit if there are no safety reasons to avoid treatment. Your first visit will last approximately one hour. We ask that
1) you bring any recent reports and
2) do not wear perfumes or colognes as many patients come to us for assistance with allergies and we must maintain a chemical free environment.

It is important to note that Dr. Chenaur’s adjustments are extremely low force and gentle, and she rarely adjusts a patient’s neck (this is the most concerning for patients). Most patients express the end of their structural adjustment as “is that all there is?” as, often, there will be no “cracking” sound, and certainly not the well known “cracking” of the entire spine as is often expected. Results are achieved rapidly and with less to no discomfort. “Whole health” assessment with alternative/energy techniques require no traditional spinal manipulation.

In general, chiropractic care is widely considered safe, with a very low risk of serious complications. Common side effects are generally mild, temporary, and localized and, under Dr. Chenaur’s gentle care, almost never present. Serious adverse events, such as vascular injuries or nerve compression, are extremely rare and typically estimated to occur in roughly 1 out of 20,000 to over a million visits; these result during foreceful adjustments of the neck (see previous paragraph).

At Valencia Spine & Nerve Institute, each treatment plan is unique based on your individual history, complaints, and comfort. We do not provide “cookie-cutter” plans; we do not sell long-term treatment plans. We move ahead gradually with each patient, getting to know your individual body and its needs. Many of our patients utilize our healing services intermittently for a lifetime once they realize the benefits of staying healthy (greater energy, fewer annual illnesses) vs trying to correct a disease condition.
